Here are just a few of the things we can do to learn, teach, and make a difference in the metroplex.
- Meetings. Monthly or bi-monthly meetings with programs and opportunities for speaking and learning, "networking" meetings where members meet with each other without a formal program, and occasional lunch and dinner outings.
- Field trips. Trips to local facilities of interest, such as museums, exhibits, animal reserves, observatories, etc.
- Conferences. We sponsor small conferences, usually one- or two-day affairs, inviting speakers from the local community and from around the world to discuss topics of interest to the local area. Conferences like these offer a good opportunity to educate, learn, and make a contribution to the local community.
- Speeches. Chapter members are afforded the opportunity to give presentations to local civic organizations and high school classes in order to promote futures thinking about the full range of future-related topics.
- Book Club. No time to read all the books you would like? Help us create a book club where members read a book and provide a synopsis for other's benefit. You'll receive far more than you give!
- Newsletters. We are establishing a newsletter on a regular basis to keep members informed of upcoming activities and to publicize member events and achievements. Ground floor opportunity!
- Job Postings. Members post openings in our private members only area that they would like to make available to other Dallas WFS Chapter members.
- Private Bulletin Board. Members can find others with special interests to form SIGs , committee members can exchange information about group activities, and everyone can keep abreast of what's going on in the community.
The ways to participate in creating a better future are only limited by your creativity and willingness. Can you add to this list?
